Business Scenario WG

Working groups are groups that work to carry out projects that meet the objects of IVI.

Board of Organizers or each committee approves the establishment of a working group. For example, Business Cooperation Committee organizes Business Scenario Working Group to identify reference models to solve the issues raised there with IVI business scenarios.

The operations of Business Scenario Working Group is as follows.

Setting up a business scenario

Before a working group is established, it is necessary to prepare a business scenario that describes the activities to be carried out. The business scenario will show the current status, issues, solutions and goals that are considered to be common to each company. In addition, a common model to be discussed for its realization (i.e., the reference model to be defined) should be described to the extent known.
If the issue itself is vague to begin with, a study group can be formed to discuss the business scenario itself.

Application and recruitment of members

Regular members can propose working groups based on their business scenarios. The proposed working group will be announced to all members, and its establishment will be approved by the committee once at least three companies (two regular members) have joined. Even after the establishment of the working group, it is possible to participate later, unless it causes a major obstacle to the proceedings. IVI members may participate as observers in each working group with the permission of the facilitator.

Working Group Limitation on Number of Members

The number of members in a Business Scenarios Working Group is limited in order to stimulate its discussion. The number of members in a working group is limited to no more than 10 members who are regular, supporting, or academic members. However, participation as an observer will not be counted towards this limit.

Operation of a Working Group

Each working group has a facilitator and an editor. The facilitator manages the workflow of the group and guides it to produce more valuable output. The editor records the activities of the group and presents the output, the reference model. In general, the maximum activity period is 12 months. (In general, the maximum activity period is 12 months: 3 months for setting the problem, 3 months for fleshing out the scenario, 3 months for implementing the model, and the last 3 months for validating the system.)
